Galaxy fast charging has one requirement most chargers miss: PPS. A 100W adapter without it charges an S25 Ultra slower than Samsung's own 25W brick. Here's how to get it right.

Why PPS matters: Super Fast Charging uses Programmable Power Supply, a PD extension that lets the phone request voltage in 20mV steps so conversion happens in the adapter, not as heat in your phone. Standard PD chargers without PPS fall back to 15W on a Galaxy — the most common cause of "my new 65W charger is slow" complaints. Full detail in the PD & PPS guide.
Reading a Galaxy-ready PPS profile
Samsung's own 45W brick publishes PD 3.0: 5V/3A, 9V/3A, 15V/3A, 20V/2.25A; PPS: 3.3–21V/2.1A. That last line is the whole ball game: an S25 Ultra requests a PPS operating point in the high-teens of volts during its fast phase, and only an adapter whose programmable range spans that point delivers 45W. A charger advertising "45W PD" with no PPS row tops out at 15W on the same phone. The 25W brick carries a narrower 3.3–11V PPS range, which is all a base S25 or a Z Flip can use anyway — buying 45W for those phones adds headroom for a tablet, not speed for the phone. Third-party is fine here as long as the profile is printed. Anker and UGREEN both publish full PPS tables on their Galaxy-capable units; the store brands frequently do not. Will an Apple 20W charger work on a Samsung phone?
Yes, safely, at standard PD speed (about 15–18W). It won't trigger Super Fast Charging because it lacks PPS.
Does the Samsung 45W adapter charge non-Samsung devices?
Yes — it's a standards-compliant PD 3.0 charger, good for iPads, Pixels, Nintendo Switch and small laptops at up to 45W.
Do I need Samsung's own cable?
You need a 5A-rated (e-marked) USB-C cable for 45W. Samsung's included cable qualifies; any certified 100W cable also works.
