Galaxy S25: 25W base, 45W Ultra — and PPS or nothing.
Samsung's fast charging is the one place on this site where a bigger charger routinely charges slower. Super Fast Charging runs on PPS, a Power Delivery extension many adapters skip. Without it, a 100W brick falls back to roughly 15W and the phone never says why.
Which number is yours
| Model | Max input | Requirement |
|---|---|---|
| Galaxy S25 | 25W | PD with PPS (Super Fast Charging) |
| Galaxy S25+ | 45W | PPS + 5A e-marked cable |
| Galaxy S25 Ultra | 45W | PPS + 5A e-marked cable |
Protocol: PPS — Programmable Power Supply — lets the phone request voltage in 20mV steps so conversion losses land in the adapter instead of as heat in the handset. Samsung brands the 25W tier Super Fast Charging and the 45W tier Super Fast Charging 2.0. A listing that says "45W PD" without the letters PPS is not the right product; see PPS explained.
Cable: 45W needs a 5A-rated cable. Samsung's own bundled 45W cable qualifies, as does any certified 100W e-marked cable. A 3A cable holds a 45W phone at roughly 25W.
If you use less: nothing breaks. A plain 20W PD charger fills the phone at a perfectly normal rate — you simply lose the 0–65%-in-half-an-hour behaviour Samsung advertises.
| Adapter | Result on an Ultra |
|---|---|
| Any USB-A brick | Slow. No PD, no PPS. |
| 65W PD, no PPS | ~15W. The classic "my expensive charger is slow" case. |
| 25W PPS | Super Fast Charging — full speed on the base model. |
| 45W PPS + 5A cable | Super Fast Charging 2.0. The target for S25+ and Ultra. |
| 100W PPS | Same 45W at the phone; useful only for other devices. |
Three adapters that actually trigger it
- 25W
Samsung 25W Power Adapter (EP-T2510)
Budget pick and exactly right for the base model, which caps at 25W anyway. PPS is built in, so Super Fast Charging is guaranteed.
- Output
- 25W PD
- PPS
- Yes
- Ports
- 1× USB-C
- 45W
Samsung 45W Power Adapter (EP-T4510)
Best overall for S25+ and Ultra: the reference Super Fast Charging 2.0 unit, and it ships with the 5A cable the 45W profile requires.
- Output
- 45W PD
- PPS
- Yes — required
- Cable
- 5A included
- 65W
UGREEN Nexode 65W 2-Port (PPS)
Multi-port pick. Verify the listing states a PPS range such as 3.3–21V — then it gives the phone its full 45W and a laptop the remainder.
- Output
- 65W total
- PPS
- Yes — check listing
- Ports
- 2× USB-C
Don't waste money on
Wattage without PPS. It is the only spec on the box that changes the outcome here. A 30W PPS adapter beats a 100W non-PPS one on this phone every time.
65W+ for the phone alone. The ceiling is 45W and holding it above 80% is impossible anyway — the phone tapers deliberately.
Wireless "super fast" pads for the base model. Wireless rates sit well below wired on every Galaxy; use the cable when you are in a hurry.

FAQ
Why is my Galaxy charging slowly on a powerful charger?
Because it has no PPS. Without that extension the phone falls back to a basic PD profile of roughly 15W, regardless of whether the adapter is rated 45W or 100W.
Does the S25 come with a charger?
No. Samsung ships a cable only. For the base model any 25W PPS adapter is a complete answer; the Plus and Ultra want a 45W PPS unit.
Do I really need Samsung's own cable for 45W?
You need a 5A-rated cable, which Samsung's 45W bundle includes. Any certified 100W e-marked cable does the same job.
Will an iPhone charger work on a Galaxy?
Yes, safely, at ordinary PD speed. Apple adapters do not implement PPS, so Super Fast Charging will not engage.
