Super Fast Charging 2.0 is a programmable supply profile in 20mV steps, not a fixed PD rail, so an adapter without PPS cannot take an S25 Ultra or a Tab Ultra past 25W whatever it advertises. Why does my Galaxy S Ultra only charge at 25W on a 45W charger?
Because the 45W path needs both a PPS profile and a 5A-rated cable. Without PPS the adapter falls back to a fixed PD rail, which the phone accepts only at 25W; a 5A cable fixes most of the rest.
Do I need a Samsung-branded charger for a Galaxy phone?
No. Any certified USB-C PD adapter with a PPS profile in the right voltage range triggers Super Fast Charging. Samsung's own bricks are simply the low-risk option: profile guaranteed, correct cable included.
Is 45W actually faster than 25W on a Galaxy?
On an S Ultra or Tab Ultra, yes, mostly early in the charge — Samsung publishes roughly 50% in about half an hour at 45W. The base S-series cannot use more than 25W, so the upgrade does nothing there.
Can one charger cover a Galaxy phone and a Galaxy Book?
