Type G is engineered, not just shaped
BS 1363 is the most deliberately over-built domestic plug in use anywhere, and two of its design features matter to a traveler holding a cheap adapter.

The shutter mechanism is the reason a bargain-bin adapter sometimes refuses to go in at all: its earth pin is a short plastic nub instead of a proper post. Choose an adapter with a full-length earth pin, and preferably a fused one.
230V changes nothing for your electronics
Every USB-C charger, laptop brick, tablet adapter and camera battery charger sold in the US is a switching supply rated 100–240V ~ 50/60Hz. That line is printed on the body of the brick beside the certification marks. Singapore's 230V is inside the range, so the charger delivers the same watts it does at home. Works as-is, and the short exception list
Works with an adapter alone: phones, tablets, laptops, camera and drone chargers, e-readers, power banks, electric toothbrushes, cordless shavers, portable monitors. Every one is dual-voltage.
Needs a step-down converter, or better a dual-voltage replacement: hair dryers, straighteners, curling irons, travel kettles and 120V-only corded appliances. On 230V a US heating element attempts roughly 3.7 times its rated power and fails immediately.
Because Type G is a regional currency, plan the whole trip around it: Malaysia uses the same plug at 240V nominal, while Indonesia and Thailand need round pins instead. Does Singapore use the same plug as the UK?

Why will my cheap travel adapter not go into a Singapore socket?
