Argentina runs 220V at 50Hz on Type C and Type I sockets. The Type I plug is the slanted-blade shape you know from Australia and is mechanically interchangeable with it — but Argentina wires line and neutral the opposite way round, a detail that matters for essentially nothing a traveler packs.

The reversed polarity, and why you can ignore it
Australia's Type I standard puts line on one slanted blade and neutral on the other; Argentina swaps them. Identical plug, opposite convention, and inert for travel gear. A USB charger rectifies incoming AC into DC immediately, and a rectifier bridge does not care which conductor carries which half-cycle. These chargers are also Class II double-insulated — no earth reference — so there is no chassis for a swapped neutral to be dangerous against.
The swap matters for fixed equipment whose switch interrupts only one conductor — an electrician's problem in a house, not a carry-on's. The same logic makes 50Hz a non-event: a switch-mode supply generates its own high-frequency waveform and accepts 50Hz or 60Hz, which is what 100–240V ~ 50/60Hz on the brick is telling you.

What needs a converter, honestly
At 220V the converter question has teeth. A US hair dryer, curling iron, travel steamer or 120V-only shaver draws about four times its design power on Argentine mains and burns out.
