What is the best single charger for a mixed Android household?
A certified 65W GaN unit with PPS on its primary USB-C port. PPS covers Samsung and Pixel at full speed, the fixed PD rails cover everything else, and 65W total leaves room for a Chromebook or an ultrabook on the same brick.
Does PPS matter if I do not own a Samsung?
Yes. Pixel handsets and most current fast-charging Android phones negotiate their top rate on a PPS profile rather than a fixed rail. Without PPS they fall back to a standard PD rail and charge noticeably slower in the first half of the cycle.
Will a OnePlus charge fast on a normal USB-C PD charger?
It will charge, at standard PD speeds. SUPERVOOC is a proprietary system that requires the OEM adapter and its bundled cable together; nothing in the PD standard can reproduce it.
Is Quick Charge still relevant on Android?
Only on older handsets and some accessories. Current Qualcomm silicon supports Quick Charge 5, which is built on USB-C PD and PPS, so a good PPS adapter serves those phones correctly without any Quick Charge branding.
